mia_mcdavid, zordok, and I harvested hops from the vine we have growing by our back deck:
We filled seven one-gallon freezer bags—hops freeze quite well, then we enjoyed some of a previous year’s crop, suitably processed:
I froze three bags of the current harvest and zordok took away the rest. He is doing more brewing these days than I am.

Demographics: who are these Episcopalians?. This Episcopalian is not surprised by the results about his church, but interested to see that we really are different from the “mainline Protestants” with which we are so often grouped. Another interesting statistic is about Roman Catholic attitudes toward gay people. What you hear from the pew may not be what you hear from the bishops.

Don’t trust the headline!
At USA Today you can see the title: Mystery solved: Dark energy isn’t there.
But in the body of the article it says:
The only problem is that for the equations to work, we must be “literally at the center of the universe, which is, to say the least, unusual,” says physicist Lawrence Krauss of Arizona State University in Tempe. “I think this is plausible mathematics, but it doesn’t seem physically relevant.”
So in order to get “mystery solved” you have to assume something that science has been moving away from ever since Copernicus.
