We went to church in the morning. LeeAnne, our Rector, was back. She gave a good sermon about health care. After the service we stayed around to count the offering and take it to the bank. We did this at St. Luke’s in our Chicagoland days. St. Mary’s has a simpler system than we used then, making better use of the available technology.
We took our son Tom out for a walk after that, then met our friend the Tinker to look at colgaffneyis new garage. Then some shopping and home.
In the late afternoon I undertook a major reorganization of my workshop space. One the bloggers I read regularly, I think Christopher Schwarz has written about the virtues of having a workbench under a window, with natural light. So I decided to move my new workbench under the only window in the shop space. To do this required dismantling the old sheet metal bookcases that had been there. I managed this, although I still have to find places for a lot of the stuff that was on those shelves. I hope to do this tomorrow. The workshop space already looks much more open and comfortable.
