Bumper Sticker

A few weeks ago I was driving westward along Marshall Ave. in St. Paul, just east of the Mississippi (west of which it becomes Lake St. in Minneapolis) when a bumper sticker caught my eye. In large print there was just one word, which I am familiar with in historical reading (e.g. for colgaffneyis), but rarely see in modern contexts. I saw it again tonight, and was able to park and get a picture:

The small print is the URL of the Ratzinger Fan Club.

Plan B

At this minute clergy and worship committees at liturgical churches in this area (Twin Cities, Minnesota) are rearranging their plans for the morning: Snow is falling. I doubt there will be many outdoor Palm Sunday processions today.

Some churches may try to move their processions completely inside. How well this will work depends on the individual church. When liturgy argues with architecture, architecture always wins.

More of the weekend

Today’s big event was a big change from yesterday’s: I helped staff a table for Gaeltacht Minnesota at St. Paul’s Day of Irish dance (An opportunity to help out and yet avoid Tuesday’s drunken mob scene). I don’t think I contributed much beyond moral support: MR and SH were both present most of the time, and being extroverts jumped in long before I could think of something to say whenever some visitor came by. However, I enjoyed it anyway.

A follow-up from yesterday: At the museum we saw another family from church. I talked to one of them after today’s service. His company does some work for the museum, which apparently was overwhelmed by the public response to Make: Day there. Also, they had many more requests for exhibits than they could accomodate. There may be another Make Day soon.
