I was looking at the back cover of A Learner’s Guide to Irish, by Donna Wong. At the end of the usual blurb about the author I read this:
Her publications include articles about early and Modern Irish literature and Táin Rúttapaca Cuailnge, a creative and health-conscious retelling of Táin Bó Cuailnge.
Bó is “cow” in Irish.

….cut short when I found my front brake did not work. I had lost one of the brake pads. I was able to buy a replacement at the local bike shop, and alter it to fit–the bicycle is about 25 years old, so I saw no point in looking for an exact match. After the repair took it around the block. Not much of a ride, but the thrill is still there, and the old machine still works.
Finally! A 100-kg Canadian gold coin. A coin that weighs considerably more than I do. Via jeff_duntemann.
