Keeping it simple
As colgaffneyis secretary, I am ultimately responsible for getting the monthly newsletter out on time. I am under extra pressure this month, because we have our annual business meeting the first weekend of February and a big show on the second weekend. Unfortunately the person who was to do the article on the show has been sick, so I decided to write it myself. With the right inspiration this took only a few minutes. I just recycled last year’s article, updating as needed, and added a couple points from the show’s web site.

A Gift from my Mother
In today’s mail was a copy of The Rejection Collection: Cartoons You Never Saw, and Never Will See, in The New Yorker. It is recommended “to fans of The New Yorker…and to anyone with a slightly sick sense of humor.” I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Another day not as planned
Doing good in my sleep
I made another platelet donation (apheresis) at the Minneapolis Red Cross this morning. The procedure takes about two hours, and I ended up taking a nap during more than half of it. By Friday I am usually short of sleep, so this is not surprising.
