I first learned about science fiction fandom in the spring of 1968, more than 40 years ago. I attended my first convention a year later. So I have been a part of fandom, and vice versa, for more than 2/3 of my life.

Calm before the Storm
After that scramble yesterday at work to prepare for tomorrow’s server move I have nothing to do there. Everything has to wait until tomorrow. So I have today to myself, except for such household chores as need doing.
Clann Tartan Muster Weekend
This was the weekend of what colgaffneyis calls “Muster”–a reenactment training event for members. It was held on a lovely farm site just south of Mankato.

I spend the last three days at an excellent class on SQL Server 2005 (Microsoft’s latest and greatest database system). I am not an enthusiastic M’soft fan, but it is what we use at work, and I have enough battles to fight there already.
