I can understand the civil libertarian objections to this plan. However, having had much too close personal acquaintance with crime on a few of those corners, I suspect Mayor Daley has plenty of local support for implementing it.

I like the way beamjockey reported this.
I am still suffering from the cold I referred to last last week. Over the weekend I thought I was getting better, but things were much worse on Monday. I missed Irish class that night and choir on Wednesday, though I did get to colgaffneyisdance on Tuesday. I have an appointment at our clinic tomorrow afternoon. This has gone on long enough.
mia_mcdavid is in Chicagoland for the weekend. She is staying tonight with a friend from her old job at First Chicago. Tomorrow she will go downtown and meet up with her mother for the weekend.

With them came another Chicagoan, a retired professor from Roosevelt University who lives in Edgewater, two El stops south of where mia_mcdavid and I lived during the first nine years of our marriage. All three were in the advanced class.
