Good news: They are like us — They can plan for the future.
Bad news: They are like us — They demonstrate this by stockpiling and fabricating weapons.
Planning of the Apes: Zoo Chimp Plots Rock Attacks on Visitors
Over the years, Santino’s operation has become increasingly sophisticated, Osvath says, progressing from simple gathering to fabrication. He has been observed chipping away at the concrete rocks on the island with his hands to sculpt dessert plate–size discs to launch at zoo visitors.
When you decide to serve on a committee that meets in the evening, make sure that a strong majority of the members are people that have to get up and go to work the next morning.
Illinois plutocrats are frakkin’ goofy
The government of Illinois, an an obvious attempt to distract America from Blagojevich’s hair, has declared that Pluto is a planet.
[snip]
That’s OK though, Illinois congresscritters. I’m sure there’s nothing else for you to do with all your spare time. But y’know, I hear those pesky Hoosiers next door want to make π equal to 3! Hurry! You can still beat them to it!
Introducing the Make: Talk radio show
For this first show, Friday March 6, 2009, they’ll be discussing Volume 17, the Lost Knowledge issue, of MAKE. I will be the guest, along with Jake von Slatt, the cover gentleman for the issue and creator of the wonderful Wimshurst project featured in 17. We’ll be talking about steampunk, and other lost, retro, antique technologies, and whatever else springs to mind.

Wes suggested that we look at Raidió Rí-Rá. The site
has some Irish text with sound files of it being read aloud by native speakers.
The plan to have our March 16 class at Merlins Rest is still
on. Wes and Mary are thinking about some exercise involving numbers. Open Mic there starts at 8PM.
This could be either a challenge or an opportunity :-)>

Name a piece of the space station
NASA’s doing something cool: they’re letting people vote on the name for Node 3 on the International Space Station. Node 3 is a connecting module, letting space dwellers go from one section of the ISS to another.
The very cool thing? The name Serenity is winning!
