As mia_mcdavid wrote early Friday morning, we were extremely busy all last week. She left out a few things–notably all the meetings she had about our children, and my full week at work. There was nothing terrible that happened during the latter, but it there was a lot going on. The weekend was even busier.
Just got an e-mail from our new CIO (Chief Information Officer), which begins
As is human nature everyone wants details regarding the structure of CIT [Central Information Technology] and what does a LOB [Line of Business] for General Government mean. I am asking for all staff and managers to just bare with me until I am further along in the concept.

I had a delightful and informative e-mail discussion with smuzikant, mia_mcdavid, and S from colgaffneyis over lunch hour today and trailing off into the afternoon. We talked about how 17th century Scottish Highlanders would have reacted when sent into war on the European continent, and about cost, skill, and labor in making clothes in the era. This may seem utterly trivial, but we are all trying to understand how people deal with the world around them, especially when the world is very different from what we take for granted in the early 21st century.
When think about Perham the incident I just wrote about dominated my thoughts on Sunday afternoon and evening. That same problem individual was responsible for needlessly distressing someone else on Saturday.
However, these are colgaffneyis problems. None of them can be blamed on the Perham Pioneer Festival. We were made to feel very welcome and it was a lovely event, well worth the long drive.
…With colgaffneyis. Camp is set up. Everybody is cheerful. This how things should be. The show starts at 9 AM tomorrow.
Neither of us will be seeking re-election, or running for another senior position in the organization.
