Work is going sort of OK, or as good as I can expect under the circumstances. Perhaps more on that another time.
goddesssif posted a notice about a free electronics recycling event this weekend down in Bloomington. Saturday morning I will drive there and contribute four obsolete computers and miscellaneous other parts that have been sitting around in the basement. We still have four computers of our own at home, and one belonging to my employer, and my Nokia 770. Three of these run Windows of one or another sort, and the other three Linux (two run Slackware, while the Nokia uses Debian).
Yesterday I went to the Minneapolis Red Cross for a platelet donation (apheresis) in the afternoon. As in August I walked a mile afterwards to catch my bus back to Roseville, but this time it was a lot colder. That’s life in Minnesota.
mia_mcdavid brought out the big loom last night for her next weaving project. I am making progress on the weaver’s bench to go with it (custom fitted) and hope to finish it this weekend. She does have a stool of the right height to use until I get this done.
Tonight we recognize transitions. First, a memorial service at Church, for our Rector’s father. He died last weekend after a long illness. Then, colgaffneyis Night at the Pub, especially for rhymeswithghoti‘s birthday. An odd combination, but both are events that should be appropriately acknowledged. Just as well the service is first.
I will be going to Church directly from work, and joining mia_mcdavid there for the rest of the evening. So this morning I walked the three miles to my bus stop instead of driving to the park-and-ride there. That way we do not have worry about picking up the other car there on our way home tonight.
