…but it worked out OK.
The plan was to go to Tom’s house in the morning, take him to church, then out to lunch afterwards (he does very well in restaurants). Half a mile from our house we got a call from his home: He was down with the flu, as were his housemates. So we went home. We skipped church and spent the time taking down the Christmas Tree: 12th Night has come and gone, it was time.
Then I got a phone call from work: There was a crisis with my employer’s web site, and I had to cope with the database part. This took about two hours off and on, but turned out OK. It was exhausting but satisfying: I had screwed up big time last Thursday, and today I felt I did something to redeem myself to the same team. More about work in another post, maybe.
The rest of the afternoon mia_mcdavid was at two meetings on colgaffneyis business. I stayed home, studied Irish (class resumes tomorrow) and listened to classical music on public radio. Really very pleasant. Mia called when her meeting ended, and I cooked dinner. We are still eating leftover Thanksgiving turkey (it was a big bird). It was quite tasty.
