I was thinking about my manager at work, who has made my job so unpleasant in the last 18 or so months, and about his new boss, who promises to be even worse. This verse (1 Kings 12:11) came to mind:

And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
