St Patrick’s ‘day’ moved to 15th via Agus Araile
Under the circumstances I am sure St. Patrick would approve, but it will be fun to watch the controversy in the media next March.
I am a little puzzled by
Bishops were left with sore heads after they discovered the traditional March 17th festivities will clash next year with the second day of Holy Week.
Some people may get sore heads about this, but I don’t see why the bishops should. The Church rules for the precedence of feasts constitute a deterministic algorithm, and have been clearly documented for centuries. This is not some sudden edict from the Vatican.
Actually, the only odd part is moving the Feast back to March 15. As the article notes, a strict application of the rules would translate it to April 1. That would have been interesting.
