We slept in. I finally got up a little before 10, mia_mcdavid a little later. I left the house a little after 11, ran a couple errands, and joined her at colgaffneyis garage for unpacking the trailer and making an inventory of all our stuff. She has written about that. I was rather concerned about how we were going to get everything done in a finite time, but had the sense to leave that problem to the Quartermaster and the Chief of Staff. I took upon myself a definite subtask, worked through that, and when I was done–lo and behold–the other work was also winding down.
At first I was not really keen on the bar expedition afterwards, but I went along with M and the others. The loud music put me off at first, but a few sips of Bell’s Two Hearted Ale improved my attitude. Then the food arrived. I had ordered a Togarashi burger, rare, which I had remembered from a previous visit. The best hamburger of my life–a foretaste of heaven!
We stopped at Home Depot on the way home to buy a couple things, both for us and for colgaffneyis. We unpacked the car, and did a couple things around the house, but quickly crashed for naps.
When I woke up I took a shower, then went out to the shop. During the evening I finished a stool that I had started (made the seat) at least a year ago. All hand tools–drawknife, spokeshave, rounder plane(!), brace and bit, and saws (with a bench hook). Very satisfying.
