Got up in the morning to watch and tape the Woodwright’s Shop on PBS. This was fun and may be useful. Roy was building a wheelbarrow. He did the wheel on today’s show, so we got a good bit of wheelwright terminology. Next week he does the barrow.
After the show I drove to Minneapolis, where Irish Books and Media was having a big sale. First time I had visited the place, though I had ordered one or two things before. Lots of fun, and I spent more than I expected, though some of the things I had been planning to buy anyway. I also discovered I can easily visit the place on my lunch hour: It is quite near a light rail stop.
Then I drove downtown and stopped at my office. There I prepared the hard-copy edition of colgaffneyis newsletter. This is running a little a late, but it does not matter too much; we don’t have a lot going on in early December.
Then home, where I worked on my shaving horse. The bench part is now finished and stable, while still able to be folded up for transport. After that mia_mcdavid and I had supper and sat in front of a fire for a while. I also did some more work on the newsletter there.
