Weekend notes

While mia_mcdavid was in Iowa camping with colgaffneyis, I was home in the Twin Cities, working at my job and taking care of the boys. My activities for Clann were considerably less fun: I edited and printed the next issue of the newsletter.

Saturday was not too bad, but for the second weekend running I was the victim of a scheduling mishap. Once again I had sole care of Tom for longer than expected. It actually was not too bad, but it left me extremely displeased to find I had much more of the same on Sunday. It is over now, but my trust in arrangements of this sort is not going to recover any time soon.

The Saturday night gig for Clann was OK. In the lobby we were complemented by one woman who said what we were wearing made history come alive for her. That is exactly what we are trying to do. A man greeted me with “How are things at Culloden?”, which seemed like a left-handed way of saying the same thing.

Sunday’s outing to LaCrosse and back was a 300 mile round-trip. Including the time in LaCrosse and lunch it took about 6 hours. Tom likes outings in the car, but this was way more than either of us were prepared for. I had some difficult times with him crying and thrashing about in the back seat. We were both really glad to get home.
