I spent all day Saturday at an introductory Irish language workshop, held by Gaeltacht Minnesota. I learned a lot, and it was a great time. There was a surprisingly good lunch and I heard some gossip about the local Irish pub scene. Apparently some of these folks take a holistic approach to Irish culture :-)>. I plan to take additional Irish classes (which are free!) from GM in the coming months and (perhaps) years.
Saturday night mia_mcdavid and I went to a concert by My Lady’s Cutlass at a coffee shop in south Minneapolis. Several other members of colgaffneyis were also present (in fact, we recruited a new member there) and a good time was had by all. It was a nice way to unwind after a day of intensive language study.
I have to confess that for a while that evening my internet addiction got the better of me: I pulled my Nokia 770 out of my pocket. Sure enough, there was a wireless connection and I was able to check my e-mail and LJ there. Well, it is less obtrusive than a laptop, or even the knitting and crocheting that were being done by two of my neighbors.
