Finished making the targe (17th century Scottish Highlander’s shield), except for dying some of the leather. I will take care of that tonight. This will be a gift for James (older son). mia_mcdavid and I trying to encourage him to be more active in colgaffneyis. I bought him a sword last summer, which he likes, so I am following up with something to go with it.

Major Christmas shopping is done, though I expect I will helping Mia with some stuff for the boys. Also will keep my eyes open in case I see something particularly appropriate and not too expensive. Nothing systematic here, just watching for “targets of opportunity”.

Took of my regular obligations at the office–I won’t be back until Tuesday. I had scheduled some vacation time this morning for an appointment that ended up being postponed, so I will leave early this afternoon instead.

Edited and printed the hard copy edition of colgaffneyis newsletter. I will stuff and stamp the envelopes and mail it out in the next couple days.

Got to the Health Club on Monday, and will go again this afternoon.
