The big accomplishment was getting to the Health Club twice, after being away for longer than I care to think about. Managed 1/2 hour on the exercise bike both times, followed by some weight work.
Also spent some time at Kinko’s, photocopying parts of a couple books I had obtained by Interlibrary Loan, of possible interest to members of colgaffneyis. I borrowed one of them as a result of a remarkably polite e-mail argument I was in. Someone posted something that I knew was incorrect, and I referred him to a detailed refutation I had prepared from the last time I ran across the same argument. He proceeded to refer me to his source, and asked what I thought of it. I told him I would borrow a copy of the book and read it. I have now done so. I found no reason to change my opinion, but it was quite interesting, and a little disturbing, to deduce why the author had said what he did. I still have to write this up for the guy I was discussing it with….This is the way e-mail controversies should be, and almost never are.
This morning we went to church. Mia was an acolyte (actually she was the acolyte), so I sat in the pew with Tom. This is interesting, because it is hard for Tom to understand why Mom should be up front, and not sitting with him. We also want him to achieve at least some low-order approximation of reasonable behavior in church. We did OK today. After it was over I really felt I had accomplished something.
After my workout this afternoon I spent some time in the shop. I puttered with a few tools, but the big thing was actually excavating and cleaning all the tools, parts, wood scraps, etc. off my workbench, so it is actually clean. One flat surface was not enough, so I then went downstairs and cleaned off my drafting table and my desk.
