FWIW, I use a cheap Motorola Android phone. Google (Android) is not any better than Apple, but since a variety of firms make Android phones, you can find some that are much cheaper than what Apple sells. When it comes to computers, I buy refurbished Windows systems, such as Lenovo, HP, and Dell. Again, there is no hardware monopoly. Furthermore, The first thing I do when I get them home is install Linux (Ubuntu or Debian) on them in a dual-boot mode. I keep Windows 10 on them for cases where the software I need is not available on Linux, but for my normal daily work I use Linux. Lately I have become even less inclined to use Windows because I don’t want to touch Windows Copilot. Who does it really work for, me or Microsoft?
