Not as scary as I had feared, but exciting. During opening ceremonies we were encouraged to tske risks and make fools of ourselves. I proceeded to do so in the first exercise, nailing the grammar but missing the meaning completely. We then did a conversational exercise (the game “Telephone” as Gaeilge). After that we worked on the conditional form of verbs.

After that everybody gathered for the party. This started with singing a song–in Irish, but essentially Country and Western. Then it broke into general conversation. There are three people from Chicagoland who are really good.There are also two from Michigan. Gaeltacht Minnesota‘s reputation is widespread.
