Irish Spam

Fuair mé turscar as Gaeilge. (I received Irish language spam today)

POST i COMHLACHT MARGAIOCHT

An teastaionn uait obair don comhlacht margaiocht sa bhaile. Chun
tosaigh, cur cludach le do seoladh ins on post agus dirigh e go: [Postal address deleted]

I am unsure of a couple words and certainly missed some grammatical points, but this translates to something like

JOB IN A MARKETING COMPANY

Want to work at home for a marketing company? To begin, send a self-addressed envelope [literally: put your address on an envelope] with a letter and send it to ….

Which we all have seen too often in English. More evidence that Irish is a modern language :-)>

Turscar is one Irish word for spam. Looking at Téarmaí Ríomhaireachta I found another word for it is cacphost. When analyzed it means just what you think it does–phost is a grammatical mutation (“lenition”) of post.
