I still have this bad cold, but I was able to work a full day. The late afternoon was spend on a software problem with a new product we are using. I puzzled over this for quite a while, then gave up and e-mailed the vendor’s tech support. I was expecting to get a reply that I had missed something obvious, and hence would feel like a complete idiot. In fact, the reply did not come until long after I got home, and there is an actual problem, with a distinctly non-obvious solution. That made me feel better.
Pretty much wiped out this evening, but I put away a few more tools and things from the weekend’s trip, and helped our friend the tinker and mia_mcdavid haul in the harness loom she had purchased. It is now dominating sitting in the living room, though not yet completely assembled.
Also found my copy of The Compleat Musketeer, an out-of-print book on the use of reproduction matchlock muskets and associated gear for 17th reenactment. I glanced through it some–particularly the section on cleaning muskets–and will reread it carefully before my next colgaffneyis event.
