James made it through it evening chores, apparently slept OK, got through his morning routine, and caught his school bus. Fine. The weekend is coming and I don’t have to worry about his morning schedule until Monday.
An electrical appliance that won’t turn on when it is supposed to is a nuisance. An appliance that turns on when it is not supposed to is an active danger. That is what our microwave oven was doing last night. It was trying to spontaneously start with the door closed. I could hear a relay clicking, and occasionally it would actually light up and run for a couple seconds. Disturbing, and it would not stop. I fiddled with it for a few minutes, then put some duct tape over the contacts on the door frames, and some more duct tape to hold the door in place. We will need to replace it–it had been badly abused by Tom, and is not worth repairing.
mia_mcdavid just called. She had a good warm night’s sleep in our tent, got breakfast ready, and the day in Mankato is under way. The wind is strong, but all of the Clann tents are still standing.
