Tomorrow, as part of colgaffneyis, mia_mcdavid and I, and our son James will be participating in the Minnesota Scottish Fair&Highland Games in Farmington, south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. colgaffneyis reenacts life in Scotland c. 1630, during the little ice age. Tomorrow the temperature in Minnesota will be close to 100^oF/37.8^oC, significantly higher than the maximum of 87^oF/32.9^oC ever recorded in Scotland. This will be a challenge….

We went down for setup last night. About 10 of us were there, including twolodge, 3stitches, and c_nocturnum. It went OK–a little cloud cover made the weather much more bearable. Unfortunately the ridge pole for colgaffneyis tavern tent (the largest) was left behind. twolodge will bring it down tonight and we will finish setup then. Afterwards most of us stopped for a dinner at an Irish bar on the way home, with surprisingly good food. It was a good time, though we were up much later than usual for a Thursday night.
