Tom’s aide from yesterday is back to today. She was actually here on time. She is not an unmitigated disaster.

However, she is definitely a mitigated disaster (as I recall mdlbear long ago describing something). Her English is not really good. This is a serious problem–Tom has trouble understanding even fluent English speakers. As I wrote a while back, working with him requires superior communications skills, not the reverse.

Furthermore, today she is here without a car. Tom likes car rides, and there are things he can do outside the house. I expect a serious case of cabin fever to break out shortly.

No, I am not going to suggest she borrow my car. I learned not to do that more than a decade ago, the hard way.

I need to get out and do some things. I hope the house will still be here when I get back.
