Computers, tools, and exercise

We bought another computer last week for mia_mcdavid‘s business. I spent a few hours this week getting it configured and on our network. In the process I replacd two of the household monitors today. I bought a couple used CRT’s at the Box Shop; flat screen monitors still cost more than I was willing to pay today. I have not needed to buy any cables for this project. All I needed were in my snake pit collection in the basement.

I skipped colgaffneyis event in St. Paul today to go to the local meeting of the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association. All sorts of old tools there; I saw and handled several that I had heard of and seen pictures of, but never actually touched before. I bought two drills, a small rabbet plane, and a couple other tools. I was sorely tempted by several others, but they went to other buyers before I could make up my mind.

The weather was clear and not too cold today. I had an errand at the hardware store this afternoon. I walked there, by a aroundabout route, rather than driving. Not as long a walk as I usually do in the downtown Skyway on weekday lunch hours, but it was something.
