Bottled the beer

I finally bottled the cherry stout that I brewed back in January. It was a little messy, because the spring-activated valve that controls the actual flow into the bottles failed. Some of the brew ended up on the floor. mia_mcdavid came to the rescue by handing me a pair of pliers which I could then use as a hose clamp.

The final gravity was rather high (1.020), but that measurement is high–I mistakenly had already added the priming sugar (5 oz.). Also the initial gravity was high (1.057), so I apparently just had a lot of non-fermentables. I tasted a little of it and it seems more than OK, so I am not going to worry about it.
