It’s been a tough day at work, but I think I have survived the worst.

On one front, a system still had a database on a test server when everything had supposedly been moved into production. Our production databases are always very carefully backed up. Not always those in test. We were reminded of this the hard way.

On another, the boss of my boss called me to ask for some security reports ASAP. I just got those done and he seems OK with what I did.

There have been other distractions. It is nice out, and several people are taking the day off. Those of us who are left behind get all the problems.

However, I just made sure this will not happen every Friday. I scheduled vacation time for a couple Fridays I want off. Someone else will have to cover for me on those days.
