She won’t suck all the life out of me, but she will tell me how much I will lose on April 15.
Drusilla is one of my computers, a 300 MHz Pentium II. This is quite obsolete by current standards, but still useable. She is a dual boot machine, running Slackware Linux 10.2 and Windows 98. As a Linux machine she is used for testing stuff that seems too risky for Lilah, my primary computer. As for Windows, her mission is to be there when I have to run something on Windows. Neither of these happen too often at home, so most of the time she is powered down.
However, now she is up, and for the second reason: I need to run TurboTax. As usual, I have put this off far longer than I should, but the process is underway now. I have installed the software, downloaded the latest upgrades, transferred my data from a year ago, and started to type in the numbers. A couple more evenings of work and I will know where we stand.
