Downloaded libreoffice-7.3.2-x86_64-1alien.txz from the links in LibreOffice 7.3.0 for Slackware 15.0 (and -current).

OK. I was not logged on as root.

Not what I expected.

This worked. You really have to be root for package work. Apparently sudo is not enough.

This worked. I have VSCodium. It is in its proper place in the development menu. I opened it and change the color scheme. I am not a fan of dark mode.

BTW: Why Virtual Studio Code/VSCodium? I write a lot of static HTML, and I really like how tt automatically inserts the second of paired html tags. However, I can appreciate other editors. I have been using Kate here on Slackware and it is nicer than gEdit, the Gnome text editor on my Ubuntu and Debian systems. Apparently there is a new Gnome editor, but I have not tried it yet.

Keeping Slackware up to date, See slackpkg

slackpkg update gpg
slackpkg update

The first time I ran this I got a message that I needed to uncomment one of the mirrors listed in
/etc/slackpkg/mirrors. I did this and afterwords everything worked.

sudo sboinstall free42

This seemed to work. It is in /var/log/packages, but neither version of Free42 appeared in the application menu. They work when invoked invoked from a command line. That is good enough for me.
